I'm not a professional gardener. I just wanted to grow some veggies in the backyard. I grow veg in the ground and also in pots and planters. So no excuses! Everyone has the time and space for a planter of vegetables. By documenting my time in the garden I hope to help others and to help myself follow thru on my garden plan. I live on Long Island, New York which was hit by a fierce winter and the spring is starting out with a bad nor'easter which knocked down many trees. Happily I was spared major damage. Check out my blog to get the low down on what's growing and my projects page for garden projects, first one is an easy way to make a raised bed frame. Lets Grow Some Veg4table!

    the garden plan

    1. Use up my accumulated seeds from past years.

    2. Increase yield by succession planting for a spring summer fall harvest.

    3. Start a crop rotation in the raised beds.

    4. Grow and eat some veggies.
